Description

Little is known about S.L., the undetermined artist who produced this piece, likely during the 1970s. The many constituent parts of the painting at once demand the onlooker’s attention, brought together in a swirling, almost hypnotic form. The colours used are jewel-like and made prominent by the otherwise neutral background. Taking lead from abstract expressionism and evoking artists like Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, the painting is both erratic and meticulously organised.
